Mark your calendars for June 18-22!
In a continued effort to support the Senior Fair Board’s long-term goal of improving Junior Fair operation efficiencies and upgrading fairground facilities, the Shelby County 4-H Advisory Board and Junior Fair Board are planning the second annual “Celebrate Junior Fair Week.” The 2018 “Celebrate Junior Fair Week” is slated for June 18 through the 22 and will feature a variety of fundraising and promotional activities. Everyone in the community is invited to join the fun and support youth involved in 4-H, FFA and Girl Scouts.
The week will kick-off with an all-day restaurant fundraiser at the new Firehouse Subs in Sidney on June 18. Twenty percent of any sale accompanied by a Junior Fair Week flyer will be donated directly to the Junior Fair Board.
On Wednesday, June 20 from 5 to 9 p.m., a second restaurant fundraiser will take place at Hot Head Burritos in Sidney. Ten percent of any sale accompanied by a Junior Fair Week flyer will be donated directly to the Junior Fair Board.
To close the week, the Junior Fair Board will host their third annual Family Movie and Game Night on June 22. Anyone in the community is invited to enjoy an evening of family and fun at the fairgrounds! Gates, games and concessions will open at 8:30 p.m. Then, at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.), the movie Wonder by Lionsgate will air on a big screen. Donations will be accepted at the gate, while games and concession items will cost one dollar each. The event will be rain or shine, with the movie being shown behind the Extension Office if weather permits and in the Beige Building if it does not.
