Shelby County Extension is once again hosting Western Ohio Agronomy Day, this January! This is the opportunity for those who hold a Pesticide and/or Fertilizer Applicators License to get recertified and recieve their credits for the next three years.
We have two dates are being offered this year: Monday, January 6th from 8:30 am-4:30 pm and Tuesday, January 14th from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm. On January 6th, there will be lunch provided to those who pre-register, as well as the opportunity to talk to local ag businesses and OSU professionals.

Registration is open for the 3rd annual Ohio State Organic Grains Conference, January 9-10, 2025, at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Sandusky, Ohio. The conference offers programming for experienced organic growers, growers transitioning to or considering organic, and consultants or educators who support these growers.

Again the year, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Ohio State University Extension are cooperating to encourage fellow Ohioans to start their own Ohio Victory Gardens by distributing more than 20,000 free starter kits of seeds across the state. Locally, Shelby County Master Gardeners will be giving out seeds at various locations throughout Shelby County starting on April 11.

Market Beef weigh/tag in will be held on Sunday, January 15th from 12 to 1:30 PM at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. All market beef (steer/heifer & dairy steer) registrations are due to the Extension Office no later than Friday, January 13th at 4:30 PM. For more information, please refer to the attached documents!
