Quality Assurance regulations for Shelby County yout (4-H and FFA) wanting to take market animals to the Shelby County Junior Fair. Ohio law requires that ALL yout involved in taising and showing food animal projets a tfairs throughout the state participate annually in a quality assurance program. Junior Exhibitors (youth ages 8, 9, 10, or 11 as of January1 of the program year) must attend a QA program each year along with at least one parent or legal guardian. Youth 12 years old as of January 1st and older are eligible to test out of the program by scoring a minimum of 70% on a written test. However, if a youth member fails the written test (may take up to 2 times), they must come to a QA session. Youth 12 years of age as of January 1st and older and are FIRST TIME livestock exhibitors, must attend a QA session along with at least one parent or legal guardian this year and then can try to test out next year.
