Local Youth Try 4-H National Science Experiment
Youth in the Hardin, Fairlawn, and Northwood elementary after-school programs took part in the 2009 4-H National Science Experiment in October. The experiment introduced the participants to principles of scientific inquiry and the use of technology, part of the 4-H effort to bring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to life for area students.

More corn sprouting and lodging have been reported. Corn moistures from 18% (very few) to over 30% (frequent) are heard throughout the county. We have heard field end rows taken off for feed spoiling in the wagon or bin.
