AS YOUR CHILDREN GROW     

1. Child Development and Realistic Expectations of Your Children 

This workshop explores the physical, mental, social, and emotional age specific growth patterns of children from 0-19 years of age. Recognizing how children grow and develop can greatly strengthen a parent’s natural capacity for parenthood and can be effective in increasing a parent’s enjoyment of their children. (1½ hours) 

TIME TO TALK       

2. Communication and Listening               

Managing a family household and finding time for meaningful and rewarding conversation is always a challenge.  During this session: recognize the importance of listening skills, differentiate how you personally communicate, and explore effective communication skills and strategies that can help your family work together. (1½ hours)

I THINK I CAN . . . I KNOW I CAN! 

3. Building Confidence in Parents and Their Children

Learn how to use ordinary building blocks to encourage, affirm and benefit your children and yourself.  During this program parents will make use of confidence building blocks, discover how appropriate chores develop confidence in children and identify when to use encouragement or praise. (1½ hours)

NO!      I WON’T AND YOU CAN’T MAKE ME!

4. Behavior Management Workshop

Discover how to discipline more comfortably and calmly by:                       

• Establishing a consistent disciplinary plan.

• Recognizing how and when to set boundaries.

• Teaching children to accept responsibility.

• Helping children develop necessary tools as they enter the world.                   

Explore how TV messages influence and impact children’s behavior. (1½ hours.)
